Dr Lucey works closely with her patients to help them understand health issues and treatment options, empowering them to make informed decisions.
She has a broad range of experience within general practice and special interests in paediatrics and women’s health. Her previous career as a physiotherapist has given her a unique perspective on patient care, particularly in physical health and rehabilitation.
Dr Lucey holds a Doctor of Medicine from Griffith University, which she was awarded in 2018, and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with First Class Honours from The University of Queensland, where she graduated as a University Medalist in 2007. She also completed the Sydney Child Health Program in 2022, adding to her extensive skill set in paediatric care.
Her career journey has included diverse roles across Queensland hospitals, such as Mater Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and Queensland Children’s Hospital. Through rotations in areas like obstetrics, neonatology, emergency care, and neurology, Dr Lucey has built a solid clinical foundation and gained valuable experience caring for patients across many disciplines.

Motivated by a lifelong interest in anatomy and physiology, Dr Lucey transitioned from physiotherapy to medicine, drawn to a deeper understanding of the human body and how it functions. Today, she is passionate about her role as a GP, appreciating the variety of cases and the opportunity to form long-term connections with patients. She finds great satisfaction in seeing how preventative healthcare can positively impact a person’s health over time.
Outside work, she enjoys a busy family life with her three young children, who keep her days lively and full of activity.
